The Accounting Coordinator (AC) is responsible for providing general accounting support. This position will work with and report to the Assistant Controller. This position will be responsible for daily accounting functions including, but not limited to, accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, insurance compliance, vendor management, and sales tax.This job description should not be construed to imply that the requirements listed are the exclusive standards of the position. The Assistant Controller reserves the right to assign or delegate other tasks, as necessary.
Essential duties include:
- Promote and represent the mission of Cape Fear Habitat for Humanity in a professional and knowledgeable manner
- Record and reconcile all liabilities, including Accounts Payable invoices and sales tax
- Communicate with all vendors as necessary and mail timely payments
- Maintain all necessary paperwork on sub-contractors and produce 1099s
- Responsible for Positive Pay process
- Record, reconcile and make payments on all long-term debt
- All monthly Bank Reconciliations
- All monthly Credit Card Reconciliations
- Post donations & all other bank deposits to QuickBooks monthly
- Responsible for coordinating with Grant dept & pulling necessary documents needed to submit Grants in a timely fashion
- Responsible for HFHI Insurance updates
- Responsible for affiliate gas credit cards
- Request Sales tax refund
- Assist with reporting requirements and analysis for grant compliance
- Continually update accounting process manual
Required Education & Experience:
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in QuickBooks online required
- Strong analytical problem solving and communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and organization
- Commitment to excellent customer service
- Excellent computer skills required with experience in Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities
- Sensitivity to confidential information
- Ability to pass criminal background and credit check and pre-employment drug screening test
